The first thing you will need to consider when getting a vaping gadget is how much work you are willing to put in mastering the new gear. You will also need to think about how much personalization you will need, whether you care about cloud production or if you just want something simple to replace your cigarette. What type of smoker you used to be (if you used to be one) will also make a difference.

Light smokers and beginners

If you used to be a social smoker or have no history of traditional cigarette smoking, you may start with disposable e-cigs or compact pod mods. These will give you a similar sensation that you used to get from smoking — and they are just as easy to use as traditional cigarettes. Most pod mods are draw-activated — so you will not need to tweak any settings or press any buttons. Simply take a puff and you will get a dose of flavor. Once you are out of juice, you simply put in a new pod and you are good to go. The best thing about these types of vaping gadgets is that they are compact and require minimal upkeep and maintenance.

Heavy smokers

If you used to smoke a lot, you may need a more powerful vaping device with a large capacity tank for e-liquid. The more vape juice the tank holds, the more time you have before refilling.

You will also be able to vape e-juices that are high in VG on these devices, which most vapers find more satisfying.

For a customized vaping experience

For the most experienced smokers who are looking for a personalized experience, consider getting a proper box mod. These will let you explore a variety of e-liquids and flavors and you will be able to experiment with variable controls like changing the temperature and intensity of your vaping session. Most box mods also come with LCD screens that let you easily monitor your vape juice consumption.

How to choose the right e-liquid?

The choice of e-liquid is very important for having a satisfying vaping experience And it may take you some time to find and an e-liquid that works best for you. Most vape juices have only four key components,  which are PG (propylene glycol), VG (vegetable glycerine), flavorings and nicotine. The concentrations of each of the components are what make the e-liquids different.

For instance, Propylene glycol e-juice tends to be thinner than vegetable oil-based liquids. And leaves less residue in the tank. They make for a stronger throat hit, which some vapers like. With that, some people can be allergic to PG vape juices.

Vegetable e-juices, on the other hand, are thicker and more viscous. Thus, they leave more residue in the tank and can affect the lifespan of your vaping device. Vegetable glycerin e-liquids are known for producing bigger clouds (thanks to their dense composition) — and this one of their main selling points.

You will also need to choose the right nicotine concentration. Depending on how much you used to smoke, you will need e-juice with either low nic level (3mg/ml to 6mg/ml) or a high nic level (18mg/m and higher).

The next choice to make will be whether you are vaping free-base or nic salts (this is related to the “type” of nicotine used in your e-liquid). The best way would be to try both types of e-liquids and check your sensations after vaping each one. Nic salts are known for letting you vape at higher concentrations (up to 50mg/ml)while avoiding the harsh throat hit that typically comes when vaping free-base e-liquids with high nicotine levels.

Vaping is a great way to quit smoking cigarettes without giving up nicotine or the lifestyle elements that you love about smoking. But in order to make your transition to a better life smoother and permanent, you will need to do a bit of research.
